Week 2: First week at RBL Accounting and Auditing Services
(January 27-31, 2025): As i stepped into my second week as an intern at RBL Accounting and Auditing Services, i couldn't help but feel excited mixed with a little bit of nervousness. Our team had chosen this company for our 550-hour internship.
To prepare for the day, I woke up early, got ready, and packed my snacks and lunch. As i arrived at the office, I was warmly welcomed by Miss Ella, one of the employees. She took the time to chat with us, making us feel at ease and helping to calm our nerves.
As the day went on, the rest of the employees arrived, and we were assigned our tasks. My responsibility was to get familiar with the ORUS website, which is used to register books of accounts required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). At first, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the numerous steps involved, but luckily, I was given a step-by-step guide to ensure I completed the task accurately.
Since the first quarter of the year is a busy time for the company, with many deadlines to meet, one of the urgent tasks was providing books of accounts for clients. Sir Jannver patiently guided me through the process, starting with teaching me how to fill out BIR Form No. 1905 and use the ORUS website.
One of the challenges I faced was the website's error, which prevented Sir Jannver from showing me the website's features properly. However, he kindly sent me a step-by-step guide via email, which I followed to successfully register the books of accounts.
After completing the registration process, I was tasked with attaching a stamp on the registered books of accounts. Given the high volume of clients, I worked on several books of accounts, with some examples shown in the picture above.
Although the task was challenging, I gained valuable knowledge and experience that i can apply in the future.
